Mahjong Competition RulesThe Board of the European Mahjong Association (EMA) appreciates the Mahjong Competition Rules (MCR) published by the World Mahjong Organization in July 2006 as the new world standard in Mahjong competitions. The Board decided to adopt the Mahjong Competition Rules (MCR) as the offical rules for MERS competitions from December 1, 2006.Even if the MCR are accepted in total as the new standard is is obvious that not all regulations particularly about penalties will be used in all European competitions. The Danish Organizing Committee of the Open European Mahjong Competition 2007 in Copenhagen will soon publish "Rules and Regulations" for OEMC 2007 that adapt the penalty rules in a useful way for European tournaments. This should be the guideline for MERS competitions in future. These Rules and Regulations will be endorsed by the EMA. The MCR are available as a pdf-file in English language at chinamajiang.com Please give this information to all players of your organizations and clubs.
