WRC 2020 - Austria - postponed

Dear Board, It is with great regret that I am writing to inform you that the World Riichi Championship 2020 has had to be postponed. This has not been an easy decision to come to and we are well aware that some players will have made arrangements, including travel and holiday time, to attend the event. By the time the pandemic was announced, we were already so close to the event that we did not want to act in haste. However, as the days went by, it became clear that not only would proceeding be difficult but also perhaps impossible.

Application form for certification of MERS tournaments
Applications forms for MERS certificaion of tournaments must be submitted to the board of EMA by the board member of the applicant country. After approval the tournament is announced on the calendar.
EMA requirements for member organizations
Each member organisation has an obligation to be active, reporting activities to the EMA General Assembly and organising at least one MERS tournament each year.

OEMC 2020 - Spain - postponed

Dear Mahjong Associations and friends of Mahjong all over Europe and the World, As you know, we were in the middle of the preparation for the Open European Mahjong Championship of 2020, scheduled to be celebrated in Spain the 24th to 27th September, 2020. April 1st was supposed to be date to announce the country quotas and start all the process of gathering players from all over the globe. Unfortunately, it is with much regret and sadness that we have decided to postpone the tournament to 2021 because of the global crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Upcoming OEMC 2020 - Spain

European MCR Championship 2020 will take place in Spain, Valencia in 2020. The General Assembly 2019 of the EMA has decided to assign the Spanish Association with the organization of the European MCR Championship 2020. The event will take place in Valencia.
